Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo Artist Happy Hour

July 18, 2023 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Artist Happy Hour – Creating Space at the Kalamazoo Non-Profit Advocacy Coalition

Having a safe, accessible, and collaborative space is paramount to the creativity, productivity, and overall success of working artists. Artists are often required to create space for themselves, both physically and mentally. We’ll chat with our panelists about the physical spaces in Kalamazoo and how to create space, take up space as artists, and give ourselves space to rest and recover. Arts Council Members, Artists, Organizations, and Space-Makers will be able to connect with each other directly.

The panelists for this discussion are Dann Sytsma, Board President of the KNAC, Yolonda Lavender, founder of Soul Artistry LLC and The Space, and Gabriel Giron, Executive Director of Speak It Forward, Inc. This one-of-a-kind event will occur at the Crawlspace Comedy Theatre, located in the Kalamazoo Non-Profit Advocacy Coalition Building in downtown Kalamazoo at 315 W Michigan Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Complimentary food and drinks are provided. The event is free to attend, but registration is required.
